"A Flash of Orange"

On a cold morning on Mount Macedon, less than an hour's drive North West of Melbourne, a male flame robin displays his colours to his mate. The unmistakeable flash of orange against the dark colours of the mountain forest make for spectacular contrast. Flame robins are my favourite birds and I never get tired of photographing them!

"On a Knife's Edge"

A crimson rosella sits on a knife shaped perch, in the Dandenong Ranges on the Eastern outskirts of Melbourne, Australia. I took this photo in 2024 when I was in the Dandenongs on a weekend away for my birthday. The aim that weekend was to take some photos of crimson rosellas and I was happy to find my main target and take this photograph.
