I'm very fortunate to have won many awards over the years:
Most have been through playing chess though - I'm a better chess player than I am photographer. That said, I have won a few local photography prizes:
Red Panda, Singalila Ridge (India).
Herald Sun, Escape Magazine: "Photograph of the Month", November 2026
This photograph was taken on the Singalila Ridge - a high rhododendron cloud forest which forms the border between India and Nepal. I had wanted to look for red pandas in this area but did not expect to do so on that particular trip. When the opportunity unexpectedly arose, I jumped at the chance - and was able to capture this shot - one of my favourite photos I've taken. The photograph is the basis for my logo.
"Nighttime Beauty": Young Ringtail Possum, Melbourne (Australia)
New Footscray Hospital Photography Exhibition: "Of Place - Connections to Wellbeing and Nature": Shortlisted, February 2026
The theme for this competition was connection to nature. I felt that most people would submit photographs taken in the daytime, so for my entry I wanted to draw attention to the fact that nature still exists after dark - but that it is often overlooked. There is amazing amount of wildlife around Melbourne at night - it's just that people don't really think to look for it very often. The photograph is displayed at the New Footscray Hospital, in the inner Western suburbs of Melbourne.Â
