Ever since I was a little boy, growing up in Melbourne Australia, I have had a keen (perhaps obsessive) interest in wildlife. My mother tells me that I wanted her to take me to the zoo virtually every weekend back then. And when I was at home doing indoor activities, I was drawing pictures of animals and doing jigsaw puzzles of them too! As a kid I even chose the Richmond Tigers as my football team - because they were the tigers! This interest in wildlife and nature has continued long into my adult life. The interest in photography came a bit later, but it fitted in neatly with the other things I enjoy doing, such as being in nature and travelling.
Away from photography, I run my other business, GS Chess - a chess coaching company that provides top quality chess coaching to schools, businesses and individuals in Melbourne, Australia. I attained my doctorate in 2020, after completing my PhD in History at La Trobe University, in Melbourne. Away from the camera and the chessboard, my life revolves around my family: my partner Natalie, my twin boys and my dog. I am a lifelong supporter of the Richmond Football Club and enjoy travelling, drawing, reading, cooking, watching cricket, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
